Feminism has just let loose the natural, unfettered female biology.
Meanwhile, Fatherhood IS a social construct, and Feminism has destroyed it. Without fathers young women and girls then are 'free' to revert to unfettered female biology.
Feminism is simply a liberation movement which overturned all social and legal control on females' natural behavior. This results in sexual license, generally speaking, because sexuality is currency and power for women. Virtually all matriarchal societies that have been discovered by anthropologists have featured some degree of sexual license -- it is the way women behave when the law and social norms permit them to do so.
Fatherhood was a social construct prior to DNA testing. Today, biological fatherhood is a demonstrable reality. However, while this could have strengthened the institution of fatherhood, it came along at a time when the legal and social pillars that underlie fatherhood as an institution were being removed -- quite ironic really, that we now finally have a way of defining who fathers are biologically, but at the same time we've been busily destroying the independent power of fatherhood as an institution, and making it expressly dependent on motherhood for any presence and involvement. That is to say, under current laws and social mores, women have the absolute right to determine if, and to what extent, they want the biological father involved with the children -- fatherhood, even though now an objective biological reality, has been made subordinate to the wishes of the mother. A clear sign of a move toward matriarchy.
Of course this results in disempowered fathers. Even fathers who are permitted by the mothers to be present in the lives of the children have no true authority over them, because any authority they do have is subject to being stripped at any time and for no reason by the mother. So even in "intact" situations, the fatherhood role is dramatically weakened. This comes at a time when many fathers are more actively engaged with their children -- when the mothers permit this -- than in prior generations. But the involvement is largely not paternal. It's quasi-maternal or "male mothering" in many cases. Children are not getting a sense of paternal authority in their family life, which results in a disrespect for authority in general, and the proliferation of sexual license.
It's all a spiral in the end. The genie isn't going back in the bottle. Women do not want strong fathers ,they want their dominant position to be retained and consolidated now.
Indeed.
