Phoenix police are investigating reports of a man who attempted to lure children from their homes.

Police received two similar reports Wednesday about a man who approached children outside their homes and asked them for help to build a swing, said Lt. Kimberly Haller with the Phoenix Police Department.

Haller said the first incident was near Third and Glendale avenues. A man rode his bike up to a child in the front yard. He asked the child to help him build a swing. The child's
mother ran outside, and the man took off on his bike.

Ten minutes later, the same thing happened near First and Glendale avenues, Haller said. A man approached two children in front of their house. The children's mother got in her car and tried to chase the man but was unable to catch him.

Parents described the man as a White male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, and 55- to 60-years-old. He was riding a turquoise beach bike.

Haller said police are investigating.

Haller said parents should not let their children play outside alone.

"You should never leave your kids unsupervised in the first place," she said.

Horrible, and a parents worst nightmare. Some Paedophile riding around on a bike looking to abduct young children. Deplorable.

Except it isn't true.

A child predator warning released last week was a misunderstanding and posed no threat to the community after all, Phoenix police said Monday night.

According to Phoenix police, the warning that was released to residents in a neighborhood near Glendale and Third avenues on March 25 was a mistake.

The incident actually involved a neighborhood resident who approached three children to ask where to find a neighborhood swing he had seen on his bike rides through the
neighborhood.

The man approached the children because he planned to build a swing for his wife, and not as a ruse to lure them from their homes as previously reported in a neighborhood warning, Phoenix police said in a press release.

The man and his wife were not home when the "possible predator" warning was sent to neighborhood residents on March 25. When they returned home the wife realized that the description of the man, and especially the bicycle, matched that of her husband. The woman immediately called the authorities, police said.

The man was planning to build a tree swing, Phoenix police said in a press release.

"Our officers are convinced that this was a mistake and some cautions are being discussed in the neighborhood to prevent this type mistake again," according to the release.

Investment Banker To Stripper

I just saw a segment on Inside Edition. A former female Morgan Stanley worker, now working as a dancer at a gentlemen's burlesque club.

So the ONLY skill you have is to stand naked in front of men?

And this is who was working at the Investment Banks during the Bubble Years?

Suck it up, ladies.

The men you know are very contentedly reducing their lifestyles, cutting back, selling unneccessary possessions. Whilst women, addicted to money and affluence, and compelled to live a lifestyle similar to one they see on T.V., are doing anything for money.

The world's oldest profession surely is not far behind.

Another Futile Argument With an American Woman...

"not only do I refer to EQUALITY in an earlier post but frequently on prev threads about this very topic. it does not matter. most of the women-hating going on is just that. it's fear. and for many it's fun and entertaining. so - let 'em. it's futile to reason or clarify."

You referred to anti-feminism here wrt a statement by Nemesis:

"anti-feminism"... do you even understand it?

I understand it very, very well. Nemesis seems to, as well.

"most of the women-hating going on is just that."

It's not woman-hating. It's disagreeing with your assessment. This is 100.00% common argument tactic amongst women debating men who disagree with their stance on gender issues. You cannot refute the points - you have done nothing of the sort - so you refer to it as 'woman-hating' in an attempt to shame and mock and close debate.

"it's fear. and for many it's fun and entertaining."

This is the mocking I refer to above.

I *am* one of those anti-feminists, and trust me on this one I can debate this with you for years. I likely know more about the foundations of current Family Court Law, feminist attitudes, the general attitude that some women have (ably demonstrated in your quotes above), Feminist Leaders, and ideology, than you do, and I am 100.oo% willing to put that to the test.

But not here, as this is KD's turf and a Financial Forum.

"let 'em. it's futile to reason or clarify."

I have read this, or a variation on this, hundred's of times during the past 12 years on the Internet. Yet, no woman is willing to debate, or end up doing what you have done above - laugh and mock, chuckling and pointing to the men as being in "fear" and being "fun and entertaining."

Let me tell you how fun and entertaining it is to be a Man in the USA.

When I go pick up my mail at the UPS Store, strangers sit in their car and idle, waiting for me to come out, keeping an eye on me.

When I am in public anywhere, by myself, and any child is anywhere near me, has maybe wandered a few feet away from Mommy, mother usually shepards the kid away from me, sometimes rather furtively grasping Johnnie's hand and getting him away from the dangerous, single man.

How about the men I know who made the mistake of dating someone at the office. Not earning enough, or they weren't alpha enough, or they just pissed off the woman. Boom. One call to H.R. and his career is ruined. Her word is Reality and Law, the man's word is of course a lie and self-serving.

There are tens of thousands of websites devoted to anti-feminism, and most men go through a stage of arguing with women like you who refuse to be fair-minded, and cannot contemplate that there is any possibility that all of the 'progress' in gender relations in the USA over the past 50 years can have any flaws at all. Your response evetually leads most to give up because you are either irrational, argue like you are in High School (...for many it's fun and entertaining....) laughing at the beta males in the corner, or simply want what you want, as you have the better end of the deal.

If you like, you can PM me for some websites, but I should warn you that your attitude will be shot out of the water by hundred's of men at the sites you will visit.

Yes, many Men ARE angry, and rightfully so.
